The aim of TNO Fast Track is to help promising (deep-tech) start-ups and scale-ups aiming at a social impact in the Netherlands to progress towards scale-up. Because good ideas only help progress once they’re on the market. We do this by developing and validating technology that contributes to our safety, health, sustainability, and digitisation. We aim to make a positive impact on industry and society through long-term, growth-focused partnerships.

What does TNO Fast Track have to offer you?

Multidisciplinary technological expertise

Our 4,000 TNO experts are ready to help you quickly with the latest knowledge to (further) develop a technology, improve a concept, or develop a prototype. Or to use our licensed TNO technology.

Independent concept or tech validation

We use our multidisciplinary expertise and unique testing facilities to perform reliable concept or tech validations based on your specific validation requirements. These facilities include our extensive Materials Lab to test a wide range of properties, including circularity.

Flexible testing and research facilities

Temporarily need extra innovation power? Expand your R&D capacity with hundreds of state-of-the-art TNO testing facilities and specialised labs. Including the Building Innovation Lab, the Solar Lab, and the Battery Lab.

Strong innovation network

Partnering with TNO’s extensive network may help accelerate your technology roadmap or launch. TNO will Fast Track you through the Dutch and European innovation landscape and happily introduce you to one of our partners.

Step 1: opt for a non-binding intake

Together, we’ll define your innovation needs, identify possible solutions, or refer you to our extensive network. You can easily book your intake using the form at the bottom of this page.

Step 2: Schedule a session with our experts

Accelerate your ambitions with an Expert Session (XL) or book an Open Lab. During an Expert Session, one or more of our 3,500 ironclad problem solvers will tackle your innovation challenge in a roundtable discussion. You can use an Open Lab to accelerate the validation or development of your concept by testing innovations with our experts at an early stage. TNO Fast Track gives you direct access to our state-of-the-art laboratories and testing facilities for, among other things, materials, building innovations, smart mobility, quantum, microbiology, and batteries.

Step 3: Time to push ahead!

You have several options after an Expert Session (XL) or Open Lab. Perhaps you’ll be able to start working on the knowledge that you have gained right away. Want to innovate further? Start a larger innovation project with us, join an existing TNO research programme, or collaborate with a suitable market party we’ve put you in touch with.
