Quantum Lab: test and validate quantum technology

Quantum technology could go on to change the world. But to turn quantum solutions into viable products, you need to test and validate them. That requires specialised equipment, and that investment is often not profitable for many SMEs. That is why TNO is making its QITT facility available to this group. QITT is a test facility that allows SMEs to accelerate their engineering cycle to develop breakthrough solutions.

What can you do at the lab

At the Quantum Information Technology Test facility (QITT), you can test quantum devices and components in a full-stack system implementation. This can be done with both semiconductor spin qubits and superconducting (transmon) qubits. Load time is fast, so we keep the run time of your tests as short as possible. And thanks to modular architecture, you can benchmark the subsystems of an entire stack. Essential test technology - available and affordable for SMEs.

At the lab you can run these on for example:

  • Cryogenic chips
  • Quantum processors
  • Cryogenic electrical components
  • Control electronics
  • Software solutions

You have

  • You develop quantum solutions, e.g. components, software or control electronics
  • Your quantum solution needs testing, measurement or validation

You will receive

  • Access to the QITT facility containing:
  • Bluefors LD400 dilution fridge
  • Single-axis superconducting 3T magnet
  • Control and measurement electronics:
  • Radio frequency reflectometry (0-1 GHz)
  • Microwave transmission (4-8 GHz)
  • Spectrum analyser and scalable network analyser (up to 12 GHz)
  • FPGA-based control electronics for qubit measurement and control

Costs

The costs for using the QITT facility are available upon request.

Proven technology

TNO developed Quantum Inspirein cooperation with the TU Delft as a part of QuTech (www.qutech.nl), Europa’s first cloud-based quantum computing service. By doing this, we learned that great innovations in quantum devices come from optimising specific components. We used those lessons to design the QITT facility, the first facility in Europe where large and small companies can test quantum solutions in a full-stack system implementation.
