Automotive lab: Research Center for Smart Mobility (MARQ)

We are on track to make our mobility cleaner, more efficient, and safer. Groundbreaking innovations in automation and digitalisation are driving us forward in solving the mobility issues in the Netherlands. These innovations are being explored and tested at the brand new innovation and research center for smart mobility: MARQ. Now, small and medium-sized enterprises can also benefit from it.

What are the possibilities?

At MARQ, you have the opportunity to test and research various mobility solutions, such as smart vehicles, AI applications, and logistics hubs. By combining real-life data with virtual models, you can explore how your innovations affect other road users and the environment. MARQ’s research focuses on societal impact, implementation, and scaling, ensuring that the solutions developed are practical and ready for market introduction after a thorough testing phase.

You

  • Have a SME in the mobility sector
  • Are developing innovations that you want to test in practice or in a simulator, but do not have the expertise or facilities yourself.

You will receive

  • Vehicle labs with advanced sensors
  • HIL/SIL setups for testing automated driving
  • Driving simulator for interaction research
  • Data & Control Centre for optimal and safe processing of data
  • Mobile infrastructure - with roof boxes, portable traffic lights and transmitting antennas we collect data in the field
  • Digital twins/Urban strategy software for system-level analysis of mobility systems

Costs

Available upon request.

Proven technology

TNO and MARQ conduct research on mobility solutions in collaboration with government and private partners, among others. For example, we investigate vehicle and traffic safety, AI applications (CCAM, MaaS, SoL), human behavior in autonomous driving, cybersecurity at the vehicle and infra level and urban strategy models.
