Materials Lab: test the properties of your material
TNO’s Materials Lab is well equipped to test and characterise the properties of different types of materials. For example, would you like to experimentally investigate the properties of a coating, liquid, particle, or other product? Then please feel free to contact us.
What we will do
The lab has a diverse and wide range of measuring equipment. This allows various measurements to be taken to analyse your materials.
We can test a wide range of materials at the Materials Lab. Consider tests to experimentally investigate and characterise coatings and other films. Using, for example, spectroscopy, profilometry, and ellipsometry measurements.
We also have extensive equipment to investigate micro- and nanoparticles, polymer solutions, (complex) liquids, and other materials. These include contact angle measurements, density measurements, dynamic light scattering, and nanoparticle tracking analysis.
The lab also has a range of mechanical materials analysis equipment, including rheometers, viscometers (for low-viscosity liquids), micro-indentation measurement, tensile testing, surface tension measurement, and scanning acoustic microscopes.
Various imaging techniques are also available, including 3D microscopy, optical microscopy, and scanning electron microscopy.

Costs
Your investment to use TNO’s Materials Lab starts at €800 per test. That includes an operator. Comprehensive analyses are available on request.
